Our Product Mission

At The Natural Beauty Club, our mission is to change the way people think about cosmetic products and ingredients.
Many beauty brands still use cheap and harmful ingredients that are therefore ineffective. Animal testing is also a daily reality, and these products are not exactly eco-friendly or sustainable.

That's why we use and sell products based on ingredients that pose no risk to your health or hormone balance, that have not been tested on animals, and that are sustainably produced.

We select exciting indie beauty brands that meet certain requirements and share all the ingredients and background information with you. This way, you can make an informed decision about which product best suits your needs and preferences.

We ensure a wide selection that meets your expectations, with products that don't require you to compromise on luxury. This is combined with accessible information and personalized advice, both in-store and online.

On this page

We strive every day to include only products that align with our mission. If you're confident in this, the basic information on our product pages will suffice.

Why we recommend this product

Do you find it difficult to see the forest for the trees in the world of beauty and cosmetics? We too can sometimes be overwhelmed by information and options.
Before we decide to include a product in our range, we carefully consider it. In this section, we explain why we chose this product. Feel free to let us know in the reviews if you agree with our advice!

How to use

Buying a product is one thing, but you also need to know how to use it. On our product pages, you can find a concise explanation of how to get started. If you've attended a workshop with us, this is a handy place to refresh your memory.

Customer Reviews

We'd love to hear what you think of our products and whether you'd recommend them to friends and family. We think this is incredibly important, and we'll reward you with loyalty points for sharing your feedback.

Together we ensure that we can offer the best range of natural products, and also provide good feedback to our brand suppliers.

It's a lot of work to ensure products meet our minimum standards. And unfortunately, that's not always possible. When we first opened, we even had a product on our shelves where a customer pointed out that it contained an ingredient we'd rather not have. A painful lesson, but that's what The Natural Beauty Club stands for: always being open to honest feedback.

How do you select products?

At The Natural Beauty Club, we believe it's important to know the origin of each ingredient. Is it a plant, a mineral, a lab-grown ingredient, or something similar? We often choose natural sources over synthetic ones, but this isn't always necessary. Be sure to ask for advice or check the INCI list if this is necessary for you. The most important thing for us is that the ingredients don't pose a risk to our health.

Besides safety, sustainability is also a key factor for us. Therefore, ingredients must be sustainably grown and produced. Furthermore, our ingredients and products are not tested on animals, and we expect our suppliers to treat and pay the people who produce them fairly.

Natural, Organic, Clean, Vegan, .. what does that actually mean?

First and foremost, it's important to know that there's currently no legal framework defining what constitutes natural, organic, clean, or vegan cosmetic products. As a result, these terms are thrown around quite easily in marketing campaigns, and there's a lot of "greenwashing."

What is legally required is to list ingredients according to the INCI global standard. If you really want to be sure about a product, you can trust this list. But of course, you still need to be able to rely on it.

This isn't an easy task, as it's a new market. Many of our customers (and we too) make extensive use of the Yuka app. But as test-koop points out , they themselves aren't always accurate.

We do everything we can to weigh all the arguments and offer you the best options.

The INCI - List

Cosmetic products are composed of one or more ingredients .

INCI is the abbreviation of International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients , or the international naming system for cosmetic ingredients.

This list helps us keep you informed about the ingredients used in our products. This is useful if you want to be sure that no animal-based ingredients have been used, or if you're allergic to certain substances found in cosmetics.

First, the ingredient that makes up the largest portion of the product is listed, and last, the ingredients that are present in smaller quantities in the product.

By using this standard when communicating about ingredients, we contribute to a level playing field when communicating ingredients to consumers. Marketing language should be present in marketing materials, not on ingredient lists.

Clean/natural

Clean means that the products we sell are free of "dirty" chemicals linked to health problems . Therefore, not everything is 100 percent natural. Not all synthetic ingredients are harmful, but everything is 100 percent clean.

Organic

Most of our products contain a number of organic ingredients. This means they are sourced and manufactured using sustainable, organically grown ingredients, are not tested on animals, and are free from harsh chemicals, nanoparticles, parabens, synthetic dyes, and artificial fragrances. Most packaging displays the percentage of organic ingredients.

Animal Cruelty-Free

None of our products are tested on animals or cause animal suffering.

Vegan

Most of our products are vegan, but some are not and contain beeswax. (Feel free to ask.)
Vegan means that products do not contain any animal extracts or animal by-products in the ingredients or production process. It also means that the products and ingredients have never been tested on animals.
