RMS Beauty was founded by Rose-Marie Swift, now 65, a renowned makeup artist with over 35 years of experience and a true pioneer in the field of clean cosmetics. She started RMS in 2009, when very little was known about the impact of cosmetics on our health. Clean beauty was still in its infancy. But Rose-Marie recognized its importance when she suddenly began experiencing a series of bizarre health problems in her late thirties.

After a thorough checkup, she was found to have high levels of chemicals in her body linked to her work as a makeup artist. Moreover, the doctor said she frequently sees similar symptoms among colleagues in the beauty industry.

Rose-Marie was so shocked by this that she subjected her body to a complete detox. She also began delving into the consequences of daily exposure to chemicals in cosmetics. This knowledge, combined with her own experience, ultimately inspired her to create RMS Beauty: a non-toxic makeup line using naturally derived ingredients processed as purely as possible.
