Hypersensitive skin is skin that is out of balance. You might notice this, for example, through red spots, tightness, or eczema. All skin is sensitive, and its role is to serve as a barrier against external influences. The skin must decide which substances and stimuli are allowed in and which are not. Hypersensitive skin is no longer able to make this selection. The barrier function is disrupted, resulting in lower resistance to certain substances. This can cause the skin to become porous and very sensitive, allowing external stimuli to easily penetrate. The skin will want to protect itself more, which can lead to irritation.

How to care for sensitive skin?

Choose clean cosmetics. Mild and natural products are best because they don't contain harsh synthetic additives and therefore don't irritate the skin with unnecessary irritants.

Use a mild, unscented cleanser or oil. Use a gentle toner and follow with a moisturizer. Don't overdo it and give your skin a break. Don't use a facial scrub, as it's too harsh.
